Ask what the quote actually buys
A price only becomes useful when you know its scope. Ask whether it is a consultation fee, a per-unit rate, a per-area price, or an estimate for a proposed course of care. Ask which product or service is being discussed and whether the quantity is an estimate that could change after assessment.
Two different products or procedures are not interchangeable simply because their names appear next to similar prices. Your clinician should explain the recommendation; your comparison sheet should preserve those differences.
Create a full-cost column
Record the quoted appointment cost, any required follow-up charges, recommended products, and the number of visits being proposed. Add practical costs you would actually incur, such as parking, childcare, or time away from work. Mark anything not yet quoted as unknown rather than entering zero.
Request the cancellation, deposit, refund, and touch-up policies in writing. If financing is offered, review its own payment schedule and terms. A monthly installment describes payment timing; it does not reduce the total amount you owe.
Compare clarity before choosing
A useful quote lets you distinguish what is recommended now from what is optional later. Ask for those lines to be separated. Save the date and the person who supplied the estimate, because offers and prices can change.
